- Want to learn guitar?
- To play at open-mic nights, go busking, write your own songs?
- Need to improve your technique?
Learning the guitar, whether electric or acoustic, seems to be on most people’s to-do list somewhere down the line. It is such a diverse instrument and highly satisfying even played at its simplest. It can be whipped out at a party to play your favourite songs at any moment. One of the great things about taking guitar lessons is once you have learned only three chords you can play most of your favourite songs.

When you take guitar lessons with Mango Rhythms these are some of the thing we can work on.
What we learn in guitar lessons
We want you to become the best musician you can be. We teach all the basic essentials to begin with:
- right and left hand technique
- major and minor chords
- How to make up solos
- how to put chords together to create a song
- using a capo
We develop into playing and writing songs, some to exercise what we learn and some your favourite songs that you want to play. As we progress into more complex styles of playing we learn:
- bar chords
- minor7, major7, dominant7, sus2/4 chords and when to use them
- arpeggios for colourful playing
- other scales for soloing
- blues soloing
For guitar tuition, Glasgow is the place to be. The musical opportunities are endless, there are many places to perform including hundreds of open-mic nights around the city.
Once you have learned a little from taking guitar lessons, Glasgow provides many opportunities for you to perform your talent.
For Mango Rhythms pupils, there is an organised concert where students get the chance to perform a prepared piece in front of a live audience either on their own or as a group (if they feel comfortable). This provides real life experience of musicianship.
