Christmas has come round once again.
Are you getting a guitar? What are you going to learn? What is your favorite music to listen to? Who are your music heroes?
Here is a list of things to begin learning –
- Chords: Start with the easy ones – Em, Am, G, C, and D. With these under your belt you can start playing 100’s of songs.
- Scales: Try learning the major scale; all music is based around it and will be great for exercising those fingers for when you are ready to solo!
- Riffs: Try tackling some of your favorite riffs from the tunes you love! Playing music you like listening to help motivate you to practice. Seeing your own progress will encourage you to keep going.
- Play with other musicians – the best way to learn is doing it for real. Jam with your friends, more experienced players, youtube etc.
Don’t be put of at the initial difficulty, it gets easier. FAST! Power through the first few hurdles and you will soon see progress!
